Responsibilities

Prepare and review financial statements, including subsidiary and consolidated reports, and provide analysis into the financial performance of entities
Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Responsible for meeting deadlines in month-end close procedures and supporting annual financial statement audits and reviews
Oversee general ledger activity including reconciliations, fixed asset management, lease accounting, and balance sheet integrity
Continuously identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, systems, and documentation to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Collaborate with leadership and other teams to report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and GAAP financials to support strategic decision-making
Manage and mentor the accounting team, overseeing accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and fixed asset management. Provide coaching and performance feedback to accounting staff
Conduct thorough financial due diligence on target companies, identifying risks and opportunities and assessing the impact on financials
Lead the planning, directing, and coordination of accounting operational functions and month-end close
Stay up-to-date with industry trends to assess the financial health and strategic accounting practices of assigned entities
Serve as the primary owner of transactional workflows that support accounting operations (accounts payable, credit cards, monthly close processes, etc) to improve efficiency and reduce financial risk; direct manager of accounts payable and credit card functions
Lead the development and implementation of financial systems across all portfolio companies
Serve as the liaison between Finance, IT, and accounting teams during integrations and new entity onboarding
Partner with portfolio companies to understand and evaluate accounting processes, supporting improvements to processes where needed. Develop and maintain documentation and training materials to support effective and scalable accounting operations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
In-depth knowledge of GAAP
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, etc
High integrity and discretion handling sensitive financial information
Collaborative leadership
Exceptional communication skills
Capable of explaining complex systems and providing clear guidance to a team

Preferred

Master's Degree or CPA is preferred
Preferable experience with other accounting software/systems for accounts payable and credit card administration
