Autonomy Engineer (Early-Mid Career)

As an Autonomy Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and developing fault and autonomy requirements for satellites, ensuring mission success through comprehensive on-board fault management and autonomy.

Responsibilities
Perform fault and autonomy requirements definition, verification, and validation
Define satellite/constellation states, modes, transitions, and other autonomous spacecraft behaviors
Contribute to architecture concepts, CONOPS, and technology trade-off analyses
Design and validate onboard fault detection, isolation, and responses and perform end-to-end validation of autonomy products and behaviors
Support on-console operations for on-orbit missions
Qualification
Required
2+ years experience in satellite design and/or operation
Familiarity with common analysis tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, STK, etc
Exceptional critical thinking skills and an ability to notice and debug problems with minimal guidance
Ability to anticipate effects and interactions for varying cases across a complex system
Strong attention to detail while maintaining big-picture perspective
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
Preferred
5+ years experience in satellite design and/or operation
Experience with fault management strategies/architectures for safety of mission critical systems
Experience with autonomous system design and analysis
Ability to plan and execute integrated system fault management and autonomy V&V (validation and verification)
Experience with satellite end-to-end testing
Possess active TS/SCI clearance
