Responsibilities
Roadway design for INDOT and Local Public Agency (LPA) clients
Creates and reviews project design calculations, quantities takeoffs, specifications, plans and contract documents
Works within the Transportation Team assigning responsibilities
Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work
Attend project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments
Conduct analysis choosing appropriate applications
Works within project schedules and budgets
Provide leadership, coaching, and or mentoring to junior engineers in the development of plans, reports, and specifications
Complete training on assigned tasks
Applies INDOT design manual and AAHTO principles to highway design
Utilizes roadway design CADD software
Knowledge of Road design software such as Open Roads
Participate in occasional site visits in construction sites and remote outdoor work environments
Occasional travel to client meetings and site visits
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Professional Engineer's license in Indiana or the ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months
Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills
Experience with INDOT standards, specifications, and deliverables for Federally Funded Projects
Proficiency in CADD
14+ years of experience
B.S. Engineering
Driver's License
Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
