Environmental Engineer

APTIM is currently seeking an Environmental Engineer to support their Solid Waste Services Group in California. The role involves ensuring environmental compliance through monitoring, reporting, and coordination with teams to manage various environmental projects.

Responsibilities

Preparing regulatory compliance reports, including Semiannual, Quarterly Reports, work plans, and special studies
Oversight during the installation of monitoring wells and supervising other field tasks
Coordination with the field team and laboratory to prepare sampling paperwork and bottle orders for sampling events
Communication of technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, etc. during work team meetings; ensures conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures
Providing technical oversight and quality control
Anticipating client needs and identifying solutions
Utilizing skills and knowledge to solve complex problems
Evaluating geologic and hydrogeologic conditions and providing analyses
Preparing and managing, scopes, budgets and schedules
Coordinating with contractors and clients
Collaborating with other team members
Attending client meetings
Providing other duties as required

Required

BS/MS Geology, Engineering, or related field
6+ years of experience
Licensed State of California Professional Geologist or Engineer
Experience working with the California State Water Resources Control Board
Possession of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher
Knowledge of statistical evaluation methods (Sanitas software knowledge a plus)
Experience with collecting environmental field data including groundwater, surface water, leachate, and landfill gas
Ability to work on multidisciplinary projects
Excellent oral & written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Self-starter and problem solver
Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations
Ability to wear proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sites
Possess a 'Safety First' work ethic

Preferred

Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner
Landfill / Solid Waste experience
