GNC Engineer III (Reentry)
Inversion is a company focused on building technology for next-generation reentry vehicles. As a GNC Engineer III, you will play a crucial role in developing the Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems for these vehicles, ensuring their successful reentry into the atmosphere.

Responsibilities
Own a substantial aspect of the Guidance, Navigation, and Control that will enable the dynamic and precise reentry of our Arc spacecraft into the atmosphere
Development of the 6-DOF Monte-Carlo testing framework for reentry vehicles
Subsystem testing to mature physics models
Flight software deployment and integrated system testing
Flight test support
Help shape a novel reentry vehicle and inform how we architect its missions
Rapidly iterate and test the solutions that you develop
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
Typically 5+ years of applicable experience developing and testing GNC algorithms or systems
Strong fundamental understanding of estimation and control algorithms
Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C++ for simulation and analysis
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment
This position is on-site at Inversion HQ in Playa Vista, CA
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Preferred
Experience with GNC actuator and sensor testing, model verification and validation through test data correlation
Hardware in the Loop (HITL) test experience
Experience deploying code to real hardware in a compute-restricted environment
