Contracts Process Engineer

The Contracts Process Engineer will be responsible for converting government contracts into actionable manufacturing process sheets and routings, collaborating across departments to ensure efficient execution of contract terms.

Responsibilities
Analyze government contracts, technical drawings, and specifications to understand all requirements, ensuring they are effectively translated into manufacturing process sheets and routings
Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing process routings, ensuring each step in the production process is clearly defined and aligned with the contractual requirements
Work closely with production and operations teams to create detailed process flows, ensuring that all technical and production specifications are accurately captured and executed
Create, modify, and review technical documentation (such as process sheets, work instructions, and manufacturing routings) to ensure that all necessary information is available for the production team
Ensure that process sheets and routings are compliant with all relevant government regulations and certifications (e.g., FAR, DFARS, ITAR), and ensure that the manufacturing process aligns with the contract terms
Implement changes to process sheets and routings based on contract amendments or government requirements, ensuring that all updates are accurately reflected in manufacturing documents
Serve as a key point of contact between internal teams and government representatives to clarify contract specifications, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment between contract terms and manufacturing processes
Support quality control and audits by ensuring that all manufacturing documentation is up to date, accurate, and aligned with contract requirements
Assist in the preparation of proposals for government contracts, ensuring that process sheets, routings, and other manufacturing documentation are properly prepared and aligned with proposed deliverables
Identify opportunities for improving the manufacturing process and increase efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality, ensuring that all processes align with contractual obligations and manufacturing capabilities
Qualification
Required
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Strong understanding of government contracting processes and regulations, particularly in relation to manufacturing requirements
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to translate complex contract requirements into clear, actionable manufacturing processes
Strong technical knowledge, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, government representatives, and internal stakeholders
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work
