The Unit Clerk plays a crucial role in supporting the nursing department by ensuring the nurses' station is organized, responding to patient inquiries, and updating medical records.

Responsibilities

Assists patients by responding to their requests/questions which may include obtaining services from nursing/medical staff as well as other hospital staff

Updates the patient medical record (EMR) as necessary

Obtains medical records from outside facilities as needed

Maintains the nursing station desk by answering phone calls, providing clerical support as requested and ensuring it has the necessary supplies

Required

High School diploma or GED equivalent

Two years general office experience with excellent computer skills required

CPI (Offered at facility)

CPR (offered at facility)

Ability to work with male and female, adult (18 & over) substance abuse/dually diagnosed/opiate dependent population

Must be able to work with culturally diverse populations

Ability to work every other weekend required

Preferred

Experience working in a medical office
