Responsibilities

Assisting with developing and recommending solutions to a broad range of operational and technical issues to evaluate and improve services and processes
Ensure effective use of available resources by operating within approved budgets to support mission readiness and operational effectiveness
Managing the agency's Asset Management program and delegating supervisory authority to subordinate first line supervisors in various program areas
Serving as a mentor to subordinate personnel and providing guidance on assigned tasks as well as developing and implementing timelines to reach established goals

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as identifying and resolving unique issues where no policy exists and taking action to address new needs and/or issues, conducting local records management and preparing various fleet related property reports while managing local agency's fleet card program, developing logistical and sustainable processes that ensure program performance meets operational requirements and expectations, preparing special briefings and high-level reports to management to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations for future budget, procurement and training requirements

You must meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process
You must meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 11/26/2025

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment
Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years
All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment
You may be required to serve an 18 month probationary period upon appointment
All newly appointed second-level supervisors are required to complete mandatory training
