Start in 2026 SummerThe National Legal Aid & Defender Association is seeking law student interns to assist clients in need of legal help. Interns will perform legal research, draft motions, and conduct client interviews while gaining valuable experience in various practice areas.

Responsibilities
Perform legal and case-preparation research
Draft motions
Participate in client interviews and fact-gathering
Maintain contact with existing PSLS clients
Work with PSLS attorneys and staff in a collaborative environment, providing high-quality legal services to clients
Attend court hearings and other administrative hearings
Participate in direct examination of clients and witnesses, as opportunities permit
Qualification
Required
Current first, second, and third-year law students
Understanding of and a commitment to PSLS's mission
Demonstrated interest in and commitment to the needs of low-income/vulnerable clients
Strong oral/written communication
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and car insurance
Preferred
Diverse Economic, Social, Or Cultural Experiences Preferred
