Responsibilities
Follow standard practice and procedures
Assist with collecting, analyzing, assessing, and interpreting data, conditions, and systems to plan and execute traffic signal retiming projects, covering the data collection phase through the project reporting phase
Develop and implement strategies for improving arterial traffic flow and safety, prepare the development of system performance measurement tools, standard operating policies/procedures, deficiency reports and mitigation plans, coordinate with local agencies related to the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and arterial systems
Provide technical support for our TSM&O performance monitoring platforms
Respond effectively to concerns related to traffic signal operations
Prepare correspondence and technical reports
Extensive local travel to conduct field work
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (consideration will be given for equivalent experience)
Engineers In Training (EIT) required
Ability to work independently with a passion for traffic engineering and operations
Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft's Excel and Word programs
Ability to work in field in Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach
Extensive local travel to conduct field work
