The Western Region Development Director will manage donor relationships, develop fundraising strategies, and collaborate with the development team to enhance the organization's visibility and financial resources.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies for the Western Region to achieve revenue targets and support the Navy SEAL Foundation's initiatives. Identify and cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporations, foundations, and other potential donors to expand the donor base

Cultivate and steward major donors and prospects in the Western Region. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including major contributors, philanthropists, and corporate partners, to secure major gifts and sustainable funding

Collaborate with the events team to organize Signature Fundraising Events in the Western Region. Plan, manage, and execute successful fundraising campaigns to engage donors and achieve fundraising goals. Signature Fundraising Events include, but are not limited to, the Los Angeles Evening of Tribute, the SEAL Tribute Celebration, the Hawaii Evening of Tribute, and the Denver Evening of Tribute

Work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and other vital teammates to facilitate their active involvement in fundraising efforts. Provide guidance and support to enhance their fundraising capabilities

Conduct prospect research to identify new major gift prospects and corporate partners. Utilize data and analytics to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making. Update and maintain prospect management information in the database

Liaise with other departments within the Navy SEAL Foundation, including programs and communications, to ensure fundraising efforts align with organizational objectives and messaging

Develop and manage the Western Region development budget. Provide regular reports and updates to the Development Director on fundraising progress and performance

Travel mainly in the western region and around the U.S., as needed

Adhere to all relevant ethical and legal guidelines related to fundraising practices. Ensure compliance with the Navy SEAL Foundation's policies and procedures

Perform or be responsible for other tasks to support the Foundation as assigned

Required

Significant experience supporting or leading fundraising efforts for high-profile events, with a proven ability to drive sponsorships, ticket sales, and donor engagement

A proven track record of successful major gift fundraising and experience securing significant gifts from individuals and corporations

Minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising and donor relations, preferably in a nonprofit or military support organization

Strong network and knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in the Western Region

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively present the Navy SEAL Foundation's mission and impact to diverse audiences

Flexible and adaptable working style; ability to work independently and collaboratively; manage multiple projects simultaneously

Proficient in Google Suite and database software, preferably Salesforce
