Senior Mechanical Engineer - Robotics

Mind Children is building the world’s first humanoid robotic platform designed for real-world social interaction and embodied artificial general intelligence. They are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of the robot’s mechanical design, refine existing architecture, and guide it toward production readiness.

Responsibilities

Own and lead the production-intent mechanical architecture of our humanoid robot
Develop and maintain SolidWorks CAD assemblies with accurate mass properties, kinematic constraints, and motion parameters for simulation and controls
Design injection-molded and 3D printed parts, mechanisms, snap-fit assemblies, gears, bearings, and structural components
Rapidly prototype and iterate using additive manufacturing and other quick turn prototyping methods
Define design standards, documentation practices, and configuration systems to scale future engineering teams
Collaborate closely with electrical and software teams on integrated electromechanical subsystems
Establish specifications and test criteria based on real-world usage scenarios and performance targets

Required

10 - 15 years of mechanical design or hardware product development experience
Proven ownership of complex electromechanical products from prototype through production
Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks (CAD, surfacing, assemblies, motion, PDM)
Extensive knowledge of plastic injection molding, geared drive systems, and design for manufacturing
Experience designing mechanical interfaces that integrate electrical connectors, harnessing, and embedded electronics for robotics, consumer electronics, or mechatronic systems
Strong experience designing plastic components for strength, durability, and fatigue, including material selection, reinforcement, cyclic loading, and long-term reliability in real-world use
Comfortable collaborating in dynamic, evolving environments where systems and requirements mature through iteration
Strong ability to simplify, prototype quickly, and learn through iteration
