English Language Teacher (International Volunteer) – Uzbekistan
VSO is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to tackling poverty and inequality through volunteering. They are seeking an English Language Teacher to help strengthen the education system in Uzbekistan by coaching local educators and teaching secondary school students, ultimately improving English language proficiency and adopting effective teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with local educators to strengthen the quality of English teaching in schools across the country
Deliver engaging curriculum lessons
Lead professional development sessions
Run practical coaching workshops
Support teachers and students in improving their English language proficiency
Adopt student-centred methodologies and apply international best practices in the classroom
Qualification
Required
Education degree
Practical experience in English teaching in a school setting
Passionate about education and language teaching
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Enjoy mentoring and supporting other teachers
Thrive in cross-cultural environments
Flexible, patient and respectful towards diverse settings
Driven by the values of volunteerism, inclusion and community-led development
Believe that volunteering and sharing your skills create meaningful, lasting impact
Open-minded, adaptable, and curious
Eager to learn from others while sharing expertise to strengthen education systems in Uzbekistan
Preferred
TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or DELTA certification
Candidates without the mentioned certification but can prove equivalent relevant experience
Benefits
Allowance and accommodation
All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.
VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
