Process Design Chemical Engineer - Advanced Reactors & Advanced Fuel Management

Responsibilities
Perform standard and non-standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks resolution of field problems and resolution of quality events
Solve a range of straightforward problems, analyze solutions and assess each using standard procedures
Ensure compliance with government regulations, organization, industry and customer engineering standards with support of senior staff
Independently evaluate, select and apply standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications for tasks previously performed
Provide process design and technical support for chemical processes involving nuclear materials, including conversion operations (strong foundation in chemical engineering principles)
Develop, review, and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and operating procedures, including familiarity with CAD and blueprint reading
Monitor and analyze process performance data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements
Support startup, shutdown, and modification of chemical processes in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements. A commitment to nuclear safety culture, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data (meetings, email, presentations, customer deliverables) and is able to adapt with flexibility
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted
Minimum of 2 years of related experience
Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria
Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills
Preferred
