They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate Scientist/Scientist to join their custom Assay Development team, focusing on developing and validating custom ultrasensitive immunoassays.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize ultrasensitive blood-based immunoassays to support Spear Bio’s product pipeline
Execute immunoassay workflows with a focus on high-throughput and semi-automated platforms
Perform comprehensive troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges and improve assay performance
Optimize methods for processing different types of clinical samples for assay development
Serve as a technical lead for custom assay development projects and interface directly with customers
Qualification
Required
MS or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline plus minimum of 3 years of academic lab immunoassay development experience; or 1+ year of industry immunoassay development experience
Direct experience running immunoassays is required for consideration
Hands-on experience utilizing ultrasensitive platforms like Simoa, MSD, Lumipulse, and/or homebrew platforms for novel immunoassay development
Strong experience troubleshooting complex, ultrasensitive immunoassays
Strong proficiency in molecular biology lab techniques
Self-motivated, with ability to perform complex tasks in an effective manner
Ability to follow instructions, learn, and grow in a mentorship setting
Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Desire to learn about and implement new technologies
Preferred
Previous experience with customer assay development is strongly preferred
