Tallahassee State College is thrilled to announce a full-time grant-funded opening for the position of Career Development Specialist. The role involves providing services related to career development, facilitating employability skills, and supporting eligible participants in restrictive housing with various educational programs.

Responsibilities

Facilitation of employability and life skills, administration and interpretation of assessments, and training to include the Compass 100 hybrid curriculum and Thinking for a Change
Provides services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in-cell assignments through cell-front instruction for eligible participants who are in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator. Provides facilitation of employability and life skills programs. Provides administration and interpretation of assessments
Provides services related to Compass 100 Hybrid through a small group setting to eligible participants who are not in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator and other programs as determined by the Department. Provides facilitation of pre-release connections with community providers and employers through face-to-face and technology-based interactions to include pre-release job search, recruitment, and placement activities
Reports monthly attendance, program enrollments and completions on the Department of Corrections approved format. Maintains and provides documentation of services delivered

Qualification

Required

An associate's degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma, and three (3) years of professional experience in the workforce development, social services or corrections field
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry

Preferred

An associate's degree and one year of experience in the social services or corrections field
