Coordinator of Planning, Evaluation & Research (25-26 SY)-Performance Outcome & Data

The Coordinator of Planning, Evaluation, and Research is responsible for leading the district's data, research, and accountability functions, ensuring effective use of data to improve school performance and support stakeholders in utilizing insights for educational enhancement.

Responsibilities
Lead comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analyses of student achievement data, program evaluation findings, and other sources to identify evidence-based growth areas aligned to district objectives
Provide written and oral reports related to assigned Performance Outcomes & Data responsibilities for District staff, the Board of Trustees and the public
Evaluate federal, state and local programs assigned by the Performance Outcomes & Data department or Superintendent
Design and administer surveys to assess initiative effectiveness and gather stakeholder perspectives to inform continuous improvement cycles
Develop interactive data visualizations and dashboards leveraging principles of learning sciences and data literacy to communicate key performance indicators and progress to diverse audiences
Synthesize complex information from multiple sources into clear reports and presentations on improvement initiatives, surfacing actionable insights and recommendations for leadership and the board
Keep abreast of new developments in areas of performance reporting, data analysis, enrollment projection methodologies, and state and federal accountability systems/framework
Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong ability to learn independently and take the initiative in work planning, role assignment, and organizational tasksServe as a “data coach” to district and school leaders to help them analyze and act on student data from district assessments and other sources
Assist with the initiation and/or response to ad hoc queries for accountability and assessment performance reports on state, national, and local assessments at a district, campus, teacher, or student level
Assist in providing predictive analytics related to District and campus annual state accountability ratings
Support and assist in the facilitation of the development, monitoring, and evaluation of the District Improvement Plan
Provide and support short and long-range student enrollment and classroom space projections for use in making decisions about budgeting, staffing, and facilities planning
Ensure maintenance and use of the District's geographic information system for enrollment and boundary planning
Provide support and leadership in the process for changing school attendance area boundaries as needed to balance enrollment across District campuses
Continuously build stakeholder understanding of research methodologies, best practices, and the value of improvement science through coaching, training, and modeling data-informed mindsets
Provide guidance to the Director on designing and leading communities of practice focused on collaborative inquiry, data use, and adoption of evidence-based interventions
Stay current on developments in improvement science, assessment, accountability, and translational research to inform planning and build internal capacity
Perform other duties as assigned related to evaluation and research
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in education or a related field from an accredited university
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction K-12
Knowledge of state assessment and accountability systems
Expertise designing and conducting mixed methods studies leveraging surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, and specialized research techniques
Proficiency in conducting quantitative data analysis using statistical software such as STATA, SAS, SPSS, and/or R
Ability to interpret complex findings, synthesize key insights, and translate research into compelling narratives and visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, DecisionEd, or any other data visualization software
Skills leading participatory evaluation activities and coaching teams on applying findings for improvement
Deep knowledge of research methodologies, measurement practices, accountability systems, and continuous improvement frameworks
Strong project management, facilitation, and strategic planning abilities to drive evaluation initiatives
Exceptional relationship building, communication, and storytelling skills to convey insights to diverse audiences
Commitment to evaluation rigor, ethics, translational research, transparency, and utilization-focused principles
Passion for building organizational evaluation capacity, data literacy, and elevating the value of evidence
At least three or more years of documented education research, evaluation, and experience related to educational assessment, testing, and student performance indicators
Experience in applied statistics and data analysis using spreadsheets and other statistical software
Experience in data analysis, performance reporting, and problem solving with large amounts of data
Experience with school accountability systems
Experience with student data management systems
Experience with district and school improvement planning and leadership
Experience with enrollment projections, boundary planning and use of Arc GIS systems and PowerSchool Predictive Enrollment Analytics
Preferred
Doctorate in educational research, program evaluation, educational measurement/assessment, statistics/data analytics, or related areas preferred
