The National Football League (NFL) is seeking a Manager, Accounting – League Operations to oversee daily accounting activities. This role involves managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with various teams to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Manage daily operational accounting activities for various League Operations departments and General Ledger team activities, coordinating with the Accounting Operations team to meet deadlines across the period end close cycles

Support Accounting Leads in monthly close activities, reconciliations, and compliance-related accounting tasks

Oversee accounting for specific functional areas such as intercompany, fixed assets, various League Operations departments, and ensuring adherence to policy and control requirements

Identify opportunities for efficiency gains, recommend process enhancements, and support implementation of best practices in collaboration with the Shared Services Global Process Owners

Work with technical accounting team on any complex accounting memos as needed

Collaborate closely with Operational Finance team during close process, to understand key contracts and the understand account coding process

Provide oversight to accounting staff and ensure accurate and timely completion of journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting

Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS)

Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to support audit readiness and resolve findings

Assist in the implementation of functional policies, programs, and initiatives that improve accounting quality and efficiency

Required

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with monthly close and reconciliation processes

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards

Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Effective communication and collaboration skills to partner across departments and functions

Preferred

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, or active CPA candidacy, strongly preferred

Oracle Cloud ERP or similar experience a plus

Prior people management skills, a plus
