Freight Pay Analyst

The Freight Pay Analyst will audit freight pay systems, manage carrier invoice aging reports, and respond to customer inquiries related to freight payments.

Responsibilities

Audits freight pay systems to include carrier freight bills
Investigates and responds to carrier billing issues and carrier inquiries regarding payment of invoices/accounts
Responds to internal and external customer inquiries on any issues relating to freight payment
Manages carrier invoice aging reports
Pulls data from multiple systems for analysis and manipulation
Prepares and analyzes data including carrier invoices, TMS data and Great Plains data used to manage carrier payables
Reviews and creates Excel reports to assist in the management of the FAP process
Prepares and analyzes data including carrier invoices, TMS data and Great Plains data used to manage carrier payables
Performs clerical work as required, including answering phone calls, managing mail, operating various office machines and computers, sorting, filing, corresponding with internal and external employee and carrier representatives

Required

Minimum 1-year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience and high proficiency in Excel
PC literate to include Microsoft Office products such as Word and Outlook
Ability to read, analyze and interpret freight payment procedures and carrier pricing contracts
Ability to write reports and business correspondence and maintain business procedure documentation
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and/or external account representatives
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to multitask and prioritize
Strong attention to detail

Preferred

Experience in customer service and the transportation industry, such as rate entry, collection, billing and/or operations preferred
Knowledge of TMS applications and Great Plains systems preferred
