USAJOBS is seeking an Airman & Family Readiness Program Management Specialist at Dover AFB. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, implement, administer, and counsel units and leadership on individual, family, and community issues related to the Family Readiness Program in the Air Force Reserve.

Responsibilities

Serves as the principal advisor to leadership, organizations, and populations serviced by the FSS Commander on human services matters. Identifies, assesses family needs and concerns (e.g. family separations due to deployment, training, parenting, child care, elder care, financial, etc.) and program priorities
Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for Airman and Family Readiness programs to ensure operations are in line with regulatory and fiscal requirements, support goals, and mission requirements
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Airman and Family Readiness Flight. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and Airman and Family Readiness Flight objectives to build and enhance installation unit and family readiness through center-based, unit-based and community outreach delivery
Supports and participate in quality initiatives by establishing marketing strategy and public relations programs to ensure target populations are informed of services and programs on- and off-base agencies

Required

U.S. Citizenship Required
Males must be registered for Selective Service
Degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level
Knowledge of a wide range of social services delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories relating to one or more of the social or behavioral science fields
Skill in conducting interviews to establish the nature and extent of concerns/issues
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy
Ability to assess and measure organizations' trends, concerns, and needs
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Employee must maintain current certifications
Position requires employee to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or an on-call status
Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
Employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for TDY or conferences
Transcripts must be verified prior to appointment
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements
