Responsibilities
Lead development of system models and process modeling studies for Bloom products
Collaborate with Engineering teams for product development, from concept to production
Work with Marketing and Sales for product feasibility, product definition/development
Utilize system model in defining/adapting P & ID diagrams and component requirements
Identify product performance improvement via process modeling or general process engineering and optimize design as well as operating criteria
Provide guidance on process modeling to the team
Interface with outside consultants/agencies for partnership for product/site needs
Drive engineering tests for system performance validation and characterization
Provide updates on system modeling results to cross functional teams on a regular basis
Qualification
Required
MS or PhD in Chemical engineering with deep understanding of process engineering
10+ years of industry experience in process modeling in product development
Must be an expert user of Aspen Plus – especially Calculator blocks and Equation Oriented Solution Tools and Techniques
Ability to clearly define engineering problems
Skilled in translating product features and applications to models
Ability to make decisions on key technical issues in a demanding, fast paced environment
Must be familiar with CFD analysis and be able to integrate component level CFD studies into system models
Be comfortable working with large data sets
Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a timely manner
Self-starter with ability to work independently and under minimal supervision
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Aspen Custom Modeler experience or EES experience is a plus
