Responsibilities
Standing watch and monitoring the health and status of the GCN connectivity and availability and report outages to the GCN Network Operations Center and coordinate with SATCOM technicians to determine if an outage is related to the Satellite Link or with a Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) terrestrial path
Monitor the health and status of the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) and liaison with the regional DRSN Manager to resolve any outages or equipment casualties expeditiously
Perform all required scheduled, unscheduled, preventative, and corrective maintenance, execute remove and replace procedures in accordance with established procedures provided by the system owners of GCN and DRSN
Document and report degradations of service or hardware operations to their chain of command and providing interface issue resolution support
Participate as directed in MDA test program to include both live launch and simulated distributive test events
Support Event Objective Worksheets (EOW) that require SBX support that impact the GCN or DRSN
Support all directed environment shifts between the Operational environment and the Test environment for both X Band Radar and X String Test
Receive and perform all cycle patches as directed to maintain software in current compliance for GCN and DRSN equipment
Perform firmware updates as required for all assigned in line encryption devices
Review Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) to determine impact to SBX architecture and relay to MDs and the MIL
Maintain custody and inventory of assigned equipment sparing to support continued mission operations
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or 5 years equivalent experience is required
Ability to maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance is required
Ability to travel 75-100%
US Citizenship required
Must have and maintain an active top secret security clearance
Must be able to pass and maintain the physical requirements of a modified maritime physical
Must be able to balance, bend, lift up to 35 pounds, crouch, stretch, and kneel
Must be able to climb up to 10 flights of stairs regularly
Cannot be afraid of confined spaces
Cannot be afraid of heights
