Lead Electrical Engineer
Acron Aviation is an agile commercial aviation partner dedicated to innovating for safer skies. The Lead Electrical Engineer will focus on developing TCAS and transponder radios, overseeing the electrical engineering discipline from concept to lifecycle management, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring adherence to industry best practices. Responsibilities
Conceptualize, design, integrate, and qualify digital, analog, and power circuitry, with supplemental RF principles, in the avionics realm
Design circuits with microprocessors, memory, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, high-speed busses including PCIE, and various avionics interfaces
Proficiency in electrical schematic generation and review. Support for and review of CAD layout (preferred skills with Altium)
Generate design documents including HRDs, HDDs, and HCIAs. Generate certification documents such as PHACs
Work effectively designing individual circuits, aircraft system architectures, and everything in between
Familiarity with electrical analysis tools for power distribution, stress analysis, and other relevant simulations
Participate in the proposal process for programs with EE requirements by estimating tasks, identifying risk, and planning development
Effectively communicate across multiple technical teams
Communicate directly with customers, in person or virtually, to understand their problems and formulate actionable solutions

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience
Minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience in an engineering discipline with systems engineering principles, including requirements definition, requirements verification, design reviews and documentation, integration, test, and demonstration
Minimum 7 years' experience with electrical hardware design
Minimum of 2 years' experience in customer-facing roles (internal or external)
Hands-on experience designing and developing avionics products, RF, or sensor systems
Working knowledge of at least one software language (Python or C++ desirable)
Preferred
Work as a technology generalist with large amounts of design freedom to identify the most effective and timely solution, with a primary focus on the electrical realm
Python or C++ working knowledge
Experience with and an understanding of aerospace systems, especially in the development of integrated hardware/software products
Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering
Awareness of FPGA/firmware development requirements as they impact electrical design
Experience with RTOS integration and understanding of its implications on hardware design
Practical understanding of the complexities of RF design, especially in the L-band frequency range
Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
Knowledge of DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254
Experience with Design to Cost and Design for Manufacturability
Experience in effectively supporting the production and test of products in a different geographic location
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple programs and responsibilities simultaneously
Ability to operate and identify the appropriate path forward with minimal oversight
Pilot License or Part 107 certificate
