Resident Service Technician
General Equipment & Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Resident Service Technician to operate a mobile service vehicle and travel to customer locations for machinery diagnostics and repairs. The role involves performing field repairs, maintaining equipment to OEM specifications, and ensuring a safe working environment while managing multiple projects effectively.

Responsibilities
Perform field repairs and maintenance jobs with little or no direct supervision
Responsible for servicing units to fulfill OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications
Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems
Recondition and repair equipment and components in a complete, safe, and effective manner by planning methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned
Perform diagnostic inspections as directed, including repair determination inspections following established guidelines, identify the cause of failure, and identify solutions necessary to affect a repair
Responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe manner
Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases in repairs
Assists in the collection of data necessary for efficient inventory control
Attends training at local, regional, national service schools as requested
Maintains a clean and safe working environment
Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles
Completes all paperwork required for jobs
May perform other duties as assigned by Service Management
Qualification
Required

Requires either a minimum two-year degree in Diesel Technology or Automotive Technology, or equivalent experience
Must own or have the ability to acquire required tools
Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record
Currently has Class A CDL License or is willing to obtain
Works in an efficient and effective manner
Contribution to departmental and product line goals
Must have excellent customer service skills, both internal and external customers
Organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects
Must be personable, highly motivated, a problem solver, reliable, ethical, and able to adapt to all forces around them – customers, suppliers, coworkers, and manufacturers
Able to work with minimal supervision and have a positive mental attitude
Preferred
Should have solid equipment and mechanical knowledge and strong diagnostic skills
