Responsibilities

Repair of:

Centrifugal chillers

DX packaged units, split systems, and air-cooled chillers

Centrifugal water pumps (seals, bearings, impellers, and shafts)

Cooling towers

Small MRI chillers

Humidifiers

Low temperature & ice machines; and

Computer room cooling systems

Replacement of AHU fan bearings, fans, shafts, coils, and motor bearings

Dial indicator and laser alignment of belt driven and direct coupled equipment

Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, and routine repair & calibration after installation

Uses experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements

Work with a team to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction

Work in a safe manner daily and ensure that all safety measures are always taken

Required

Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills

Strong HVAC and refrigeration skills

Strong mechanical aptitude

Strong overall system troubleshooting abilities

Ability to source materials and estimate repair quotes if required

Prior work experience and educational requirements

Will require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or a technical program

3+ years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience

EPA certification

Clean driving record, background check and drug free

Flexibility to work overtime, on-call and weekends, as required

Meet all physical requirements of working in the HVAC field, including operating applicable tools, comfortable working at heights as well as indoor & outdoor

Preferred

Understanding of steam system components (traps, Spence regulators, humidifiers, and heat exchangers)

Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints

Understands basics of building automation systems
