Outreach College Aide
NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently. The External Affairs’ Outreach Unit is seeking an Outreach College Aide to provide administrative support, including case tracking and responding to inquiries from elected officials and community partners.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Coordinate effective and timely response to constituent casework and resolution (phone, email, and mail) from elected officials and community boards
Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions on DOF’s Homeowner Exemptions, Abatement, and Rent Freeze Programs
Maintain an up-to-date contact list of all New York City, State and Federal elected officials
Qualification
Required
The student must be pursuing a bachelor's degree and, in their 3rd or 4th year of college
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school
Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school
Preferred
Ability to work productively under pressure to meet productivity goals
Proficient computer and technical skills including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to learn new computer-based programs quickly
Show a high-level of responsibility around quality, detail and accuracy
Excellent written, public speaking and interpersonal skills
