Software Engineer I (MERN, AWS)
Travelers is a leading property casualty insurer with a commitment to customer service and innovation. They are seeking a Software Engineer I to perform intermediate engineering tasks, including development, analysis, and troubleshooting of systems.

Responsibilities
Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions as well as define technical requirements for assignments of intermediate complexity
Participate with team to perform analysis, assessment and resolution for defects and incidents of intermediate complexity and escalate appropriately
Work within guidelines set by team to independently tackle well-scoped problems
Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience
One year of programming/development experience
Preferred
3 years of programming/development experience preferred
Experience with Cloud Engineering is a plus (AWS preferred, with emphasis on Node.js Lambdas, AWS Gateway, S3)
Experience with application performance monitoring tools like Dynatrace/AppDynamics/Grafana/Influx stack or ELK stack
Experience developing, operating, and tuning systems with high availability and high throughput
General understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls
Experience with cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure is a plus
Experience with AI, GenAI is a plus
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform is a plus
Experience with one or more of Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes is a plus
Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases is a plus
