Responsibilities

Implement gene expression assays to inform target engagement in biological matrices using techniques such as RT-qPCR or dPCR
Evaluate and implement fit-for-purpose automated RNA extraction methods to improve consistency and performance of gene expression assays
In support of program priorities, perform non-GLP sample analysis for emerging and established tissues to support all of Alnylam’s RNAi therapeutic development from early to late stages
Design, troubleshoot and interpret experiments
Help implement and maintain appropriate procedures and controls to ensure consistent assay performance and reproducible data
Maintain meticulous laboratory notebooks, perform data analysis and QC, and communicate results to matrixed teams to support program advancement
Collaborate with team members to expand capabilities and improve workflows for molecular analysis and data reporting

Required

A Master's degree (6+ years of relevant industry experience) or Bachelor's degree (8+ years of relevant industry experience) in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or relevant field
Excellent lab technique and previous experience to perform PCR-based molecular assays, and ability to work independently
Has experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other analytical software (e.g. GraphPad Prism, QuantStudio)
Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to thrive in a team environment and be comfortable working on and prioritizing multiple projects
Has strong interpersonal skills to enable collaboration with cross-functional teams
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

Experience with biological matrices across preclinical species is strongly preferred
A quick learner with proven ability to perform in a fast paced working environment
