Labor & Employment Associate [Junior] @ Leading NYC Boutique
Whistler Partners is seeking a talented junior associate to join a highly regarded, nationally recognized team advising employers on a wide range of workplace matters. The role involves drafting legal documents, conducting research, advising clients on employment issues, and collaborating with senior associates on complex employment matters.
Responsibilities
Draft position statements, briefs, memoranda, and other written advocacy for agency matters and employment disputes
Conduct legal research and prepare analyses related to federal, state, and local labor & employment laws
Support litigation strategy, including drafting pleadings, assisting with discovery, and managing factual investigations
Advise clients on employment policies, compliance, accommodations, discipline, terminations, wage-and-hour issues, and risk mitigation
Communicate directly with clients through written guidance and day-to-day counseling
Collaborate with partners and senior associates to manage active matters, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work product
Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting employers and contribute to internal research or client-facing updates
Qualification
Required
3+ years of labor & employment and/or employment litigation experience
Excellent academic credentials with strong research, analytical, and writing skills
Ability to balance multiple matters, work independently, and maintain exceptional attention to detail
A client-service mindset and ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred
law school classes of 2021–2022 strongly preferred
Experience preparing position statements, briefs, and written client communication preferred
