Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues
Increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems
Optimize client operations and modernization
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects
Perform SATCOM system analysis and evaluations for both commercial and military systems
Conduct systems engineering evaluations of satellite and terminal designs
Participate in proposal and technical evaluations for satellite systems

Required

5+ years of experience with tactical network software engineering functions
Experience in all aspects of transmission, including modulation and coding, link budgets, radio frequency equipment, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation, and algorithms or protocols
Experience with supporting analysis of system performance, throughput and response time, analysis of operational requirements, and system loading
Experience with conducting systems engineering evaluations of satellite and terminal designs
Experience with participating in proposal and technical evaluations for satellite systems
Knowledge of systems engineering methods and processes to perform SATCOM system analysis and evaluations for both commercial and military systems
Knowledge of Military Standards (MIL-STDs) and certification processes
Knowledge of customer or vendor product development, business proposals, marketing interaction, product design, and manufacturing processes
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience with tactical network software engineering functions, or 15+ years of experience with tactical network software engineering functions in lieu of a degree

Preferred

Experience with DoD executive offices, program managers, or project managers
Knowledge of Army organization structure and Unit Task Organization concepts
Ability to analyze issues and propose appropriate resolutions
Ability to provide in-depth technical assessments and analysis of activities within and between programs
Ability to support the design of system architectures, terminals, waveforms, and access protocols
Ability to support design reviews and perform evaluation of satellite and terminal contractor designs
Ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful terms for others involved
Ability to effectively coordinate within and outside of the program management office
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
