Director, Electrical Engineering

Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems and components for buildings, infrastructure, and industrial facilities, using CAD software and industry standards
Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis of electrical systems and components, such as power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, communication, and control systems
Prepare and review electrical drawings, specifications, reports, and documents, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and client requirements, and evaluate electrical system designs for completeness, constructability, and conformance with cost/schedule goals
Coordinate and communicate with other engineers, architects, contractors, and clients, to resolve technical issues, provide technical support, and ensure the integration and coordination of electrical systems with other disciplines
Conduct site visits, inspections, and testing of electrical systems and components, to verify the installation, operation, and performance of the systems and identify any defects or problems
Manage and monitor the electrical design and engineering budget, schedule, and quality, and report the progress and status of the project to the management and the client
Ensure the compliance with the health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations, and follow the best practices and ethical standards of the electrical engineering profession
Research and evaluate new technologies and trends in the field of electrical engineering and propose innovative solutions to improve the quality and sustainability of the electrical systems and components
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
At least 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in design and engineering services for buildings, infrastructure, and mission critical facilities, including utility coordination
Experience with commercial electrical design
Proficient in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation, and electrical engineering software, such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower
Familiar with electrical codes, standards, and regulations, such as NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and UL
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components, such as power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, communication, and control systems
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Creative, innovative, and adaptable, with the passion for learning and developing new skills and technologies
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, under pressure and with tight deadlines
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex and challenging projects
Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
Willingness to travel and work on-site as required by the project
Professional Engineer (PE) license
