They are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to lead the development of detailed electrical design packages and contribute to the company's Electrical Engineering Standards while collaborating with a team of engineers and designers.

Responsibilities
Act as the drafting and design interface for the discipline for projects and proposals
Ensure quality of drafting, design and back drafting by carrying out quality checks as per the quality procedures and maintain quality records thereof
Monitor and report drafting and design progress for projects to the Engineering Manager
Induct drafting and design personnel to the drafting procedures in the office and ensure adherence to the same
Liaise with other disciplines on technical issues
The ability to work independently to complete demanding assignments through the application of advanced design theories, techniques, and practices on several small and medium size projects
The ability to work within a team environment with a minimum of supervision
Performs moderately to difficult drafting assignments requiring a working knowledge of established drafting techniques, standards, practices and software. Understands and applies company procedures as they pertain to the electrical discipline
The proven ability to oversee the preparation of design and detail drawings from sketches, plans or other design / specification data
Ability to take on responsibility for the design and drafting of HV, MV and LV electrical installations
Direct the work of junior designers and ensure the drawings are in accordance with the client requirements and relevant project specifications
Have the experience to participate in design review with various clients and to advise on technical design and drafting issues and compliance requirements as appropriate
Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of completing a given work scope within time and project constraints
Develop layouts, plans, sections, elevations, and details for facilities, equipment, etc. from reference drawings or catalogs
Performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings. Records and files electrical discipline documents
Ability to travel to job sites to perform site walkdown on raceway routing, etc
Responsible for the coordination of all electrical drawings
Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the project, etc
Qualification
Required
10 or more years of experience as an Electrical Design Lead in Oil and Gas Industry
Experience in Engineering Workshare
Experience in 3D Modelling packages such as AutoPlant / PDMS / PDS
Experience in CAD
Experience in AutoCAD
Experience in Microstation
Experience in SmartPlant 3D
Experience in SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL)
Specialization in detailed drawings for lighting
Specialization in small power and earthing systems
Specialization in HV/MV/LV single line diagrams
Specialization in wiring and control schematic diagram
Specialization in AC/DC distribution panels
Specialization in process area electrical equipment layouts
Specialization in substation and switchyard layouts
Specialization in cable tray, above grade and underground cable layouts
Specialization in ductbank sizing and layouts
Specialization in preparation of installation details
Specialization in grounding plans
Specialization in lightning layouts
Experience in cable schedules
Experience in cable pulling calculations
Experience in cable tray sizing calculations
Experience in cable selection & sizing calculations
Experience in lighting calculations (using software AGI32, etc.)
Experience in material take-offs, selection of bulk materials
Experience in heat tracing system layouts
Ability to commute to Downtown Houston office Monday – Friday
A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Design / Drafting with discipline specific training
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in electrical design and drafting
