Responsibilities

Assist in coordinating programs and activities of the County Veterans Service Office
Provide all clerical support serving as a professional liaison to Veterans and their dependents
Help ensure clients receive the full benefits they are entitled to as Veterans
Maintain client records and perform related administrative and clerical functions as assigned
Provide representation and advocacy services to Veterans and their dependents
Assist or refer in claims for other services
Promote Veterans services and coordinate office functions with other agencies
Make referrals to various agencies as authorized
Assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned

Required

Must already be certified as a VSO
Requires associate's degree in business, Social Services or other relevant field
Requires three (3) years of related experience
A county or city veteran service officer must be a veteran who served as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States and who was discharged or released from such service under honorable conditions, in accordance with Florida statutes
Requires a valid Florida driver's license
