Youth Services Coach

Goodwill of Central Illinois is seeking a Youth Services Coach to support their youth programming. The role involves working with youth aged 10–24 to develop skills in conflict resolution and coping strategies, while also contributing to program development and collaborating with families and community partners.

Responsibilities

Work directly with youth in Revive and Teen REACH programs to build trust and teach social-emotional skills, conflict resolution, and coping strategies
Manage a small caseload of youth requiring additional one-on-one support to succeed in group settings
Respond calmly and effectively to youth experiencing crises, employing trauma-informed practices rather than restraint or seclusion
Collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to advocate and promote trauma-informed care and service linkages for youth and reinforce behavioral supports across environments.Create and maintain behavior support plans, monitor progress, and adjust interventions as needed
Collect, track, and report program data to comply with program requirements and support continuous improvement
Organize and facilitate group or individual coaching on topics such as better understanding their mental wellbeing, identifying and improving their coping skills in dealing with trauma, and incorporating principles from Goodwill’s holistic Mission Coach approach
Serve as the primary point of contact for youth, families, volunteers, and external partners
Represent Goodwill in the community, engaging in outreach, networking, and resource development to expand program impact
Participate in ongoing professional development, training on trauma-informed practices, youth mental health, and other relevant topics
Maintain a positive, professional demeanor and ensure equitable, culturally competent interactions with all participants
Perform other duties as assigned to support program success and participant well-being

Required

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to deliver guidance, feedback, and program information effectively
Experience supporting youth in social-emotional development, de-escalation, and trauma-informed practices
Ability to build trusting relationships with youth, families, and community partners; employ a strengths-based, client-centered approach
Works independently, makes sound decisions in the best interest of youth, and demonstrates accountability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or G Suite; experience with database systems preferred
Uses both rationale and reasoning to examine data, processes, and strategies in identifying trends and inconsistencies to create alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships at all levels with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support. Is able to receive as well as provide feedback to improve performance or processes
Adheres to procedures and protocol, including maintaining confidentiality in passwords, logging on and off procedures, and adherence to Goodwill's values
Has solid knowledge of G Suite, MS Office, databases, and the internet
Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule beyond normal business hours
Is willing to travel to participants' homes, workplaces, community centers, and other venues at times that are convenient to individuals being served
All candidates must pass a pre-employment background check. Must have a valid driver's license, up-to-date auto insurance, and a good driving record
