Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement high-quality control software for Hyliion’s Karno Power Module, which includes combustion, thermal, pressure, high-voltage and power management systems
Define and conduct tests to verify software and tune control parameters to meet key performance indicators
Prepare reports and technical documentation related to system performance, control strategies, and compliance
Process and analyze data to verify software against engineering specifications, support root cause analysis and for optimizing performance
Ensure on time delivery with
Assist product team in defining customer requirements and generate corresponding engineering specifications
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering, or Computer Science or related field
3-5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge and experience with genset, power plant or hybrid vehicle control systems
Experience with software testing environments such as MIL, SIL
Experience with Controller Area Networks (CAN)
Experience with PLCs or embedded systems
Knowledge and experience with electrical circuits, electromechanical systems and electrical wiring
Good understanding of the V-model
Controls software development in MATLAB/Simulink
Classical and modern control disciplines
Ability to work safely in labs, dynos, etc
Strong teamwork
Proven ability in managing multiple projects, priorities, and assignments with accountability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and prepare technical reports
Position will require some travel to support testing, evaluate system performance or debug onsite issues
Preferred
Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering, or Computer Science or related field
Experience with C/C++ or Python is a plus
Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket)
