Responsibilities
Review referrals prior to scheduling, prioritizing based on surgery schedule dates
Answer incoming phone calls and record messages
Schedule patients by gathering/verifying all necessary information for the medical record
Appropriately documenting communication with patients and updates referrals within the work queue
Qualification
Required
Completion of a high school education or equivalent
knowledge of medical terminology
6 months+ of clerical experience in a health care setting, filing, and retrieval methods
general medical office/practice experience
Preferred
Coding experience and/or an associates degree in medical secretarial sciences or related field
