Responsible for insuring accurate diagnosis and procedure coding as well as providing documentation and coding related feedback and educational services to providers
Ability to converse with physicians regarding coding and documentation
Ability to plan, write and deliver training materials specific to coding/documentation matters
Qualification
Required
Excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills required
Previous supervisory experience required
A minimum of three to five years coding experience (ICD-9-CM, CPT) in an ambulatory facility required
Comprehensive knowledge of CPT coding methodologies and regulatory requirements a must
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with the medical staff
Demonstrated leadership skills required
Ability to converse with physicians regarding coding and documentation
Ability to plan, write and deliver training materials specific to coding/documentation matters
Proficiency in PC 'Office' applications required
Associate Degree required
5 or more years in Ambulatory or Hospital outpatient setting
CPC required
Experience and familiarity with electronic health record systems
Preferred
BA Preferred
Member of AAPC or AHIMA preferred
