IT Network Field Engineer
Turner Mining Group is seeking an IT Network Field Engineer to play a pivotal role in their IT Department, showcasing expertise in technology while contributing to staff development and strategic technology planning. Responsibilities
Manage technology networking infrastructure through various channels (ticketing system, email, phone, or in-person) with minimal supervision
Lead the local IT team in troubleshooting complex Networking and Firewall hardware, software, and connectivity issues across US and Corporate sites
Work closely with other technology departments to align vision, direction, and execute joint projects
Regularly produce professional reports, instructional documentation, manage department projects, and contribute to technology standards/procedures
Contribute to departmental audits and continuously improve operational processes
Be available for Severity 1 and 2 incidents across multiple locations or areas
Be accessible for programmed activities conducted outside of standard office hours to minimize disruptions
Assist technology management in defining strategy, direction, and cross-departmental initiatives to achieve company objectives
Maintaining a secure, stable, and segregated network environment for Information systems (Servers, PCs, Business Wireless) as well as operational technology systems
Designing and implementing new network changes including LAN and VLAN routing, switching, and physical infrastructure
Maintaining network documentation including maps, asset inventory, and standards
Ensuring adherence to best practices for network design and security
Approving network change control requests submitted by other engineers and other stakeholders
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
The client is only open to current US Citizens or Permanent Residents. No current or future sponsorship will be provided
Design, configure, troubleshoot, and provide direction in various technologies including: Network protocols (TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, etc.), Security principles and tools (Firewalls, SSL certs, LDAP, etc.), Familiarity with Virtualization environments (VMWare, HA, vSphere, etc.), Familiarity with Storage solutions (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, etc.), Monitoring tools (Wireshark, Solarwinds, OPManager, etc.), Familiarity with Scripting and automation (Powershell, RPA, etc.), Robust understanding of OSI and TCP/IP stack, Wireless Networking (b/g/n/ac/ax), Experience with Cisco Catalyst, ASA, NGFW platforms, Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), and SDWAN principles, Solid understanding of static routing, OSPF, BGP, Link aggregation, tunneling protocols, and VPN, Familiarity with Purdue model of network segregation, CPWE and OSI Network model, Proficiency with mapping tools such as AutoCAD, EkaHau, MS Visio, LucidChart
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Certifications in focus areas or equivalent experience
5 years' experience in relevant technologies
Preferred
Desirably Additional Support Skills: Troubleshoot and support a range of technologies including Windows server roles, Microsoft technologies, Apple iOS, disaster recovery, and backup processes
Bonus Knowledge: Industry Standard networking certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Arista, etc.)
Cybersecurity best practices (SANS critical controls, CPWE, NIST standards, etc.)
Active Directory and Powershell
Virtual storage solutions (VXRail, VMWare, etc.)
Python, git, and other scripting tools
Experience with SAN and WAN configuration
Experience in mining or industrial work environments
Experience with industrial networking protocols (profinet, modbus, etc.)
Knowledge of LTE technologies and principles
