LCRA is seeking college students with a strong occupational safety and health background for their Occupational Safety Intern Program. This 10-to-12-week program will allow interns to apply their safety knowledge in a business environment while becoming integral members of the LCRA Safety Services team.

Responsibilities

Meet with organizational stakeholders to identify occupational safety problems and opportunities

Research industry concepts, ideas, and best practices in occupational safety

Read relevant texts, articles, and sources on all sides of safety topics

Formulate recommendations and alternatives based on your sampling and research

Prepare memos and/or presentations to present your research, findings, conclusions and recommendations

Justify your recommendations with data and objective logical reasoning

Explain alternative viewpoints and stakeholder feedback

Qualification

Occupational safety knowledgeResearch skillsAnalytical skillsPresentation skillsCommunication skills

Required

Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program in junior year or has completed junior year and will be starting senior year

Preferred

In the Junior or Senior year of an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university, with some advanced coursework related to occupational health and safety
