PV Electrical Designer
Forest County Potawatomi Community is seeking a PV Electrical Designer to develop and manage electrical design projects. The role involves creating detailed design drawings, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Develop electrical design drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software
Create and update schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and circuit designs
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to define project requirements and timelines
Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and other electrical engineering tasks
Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEC, and other applicable codes and standards
Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, structural, architectural) to ensure integrated design
Support construction and installation teams with technical documentation and field support
Review and revise designs based on feedback and site conditions
Qualification
Required
Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Design, or related field
3+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software
Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred
Experience with lighting design, power distribution, and low-voltage systems
Familiarity with BIM workflows and 3D modeling
Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable design practices
