Lab Operations Supervisor, Vehicle Engineering, Validation Platforms
Tesla is seeking a Lab Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of multiple lab and testing facilities in the Bay Area. The role involves managing logistics, project coordination, and workforce supervision, ensuring operational excellence in lab services and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities
Oversee daily lab operations across multiple locations, ensuring organization, safety, and efficiency
Manage space planning, project walkthroughs, rigging projects, and scope definition for lab initiatives
Coordinate logistics, including truck scheduling, consumables stocking, equipment maintenance, and coolant/fluids supply
Supervise contractor access, hazwaste handling, recycling programs, and compliance with EHS standards
Schedule and track workforce training (e.g., forklift, reach truck) and conduct team performance reviews
Lead lab setup for new buildings, including signage, consumables cabinets, and Fastenal satellite stations
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, workplace services, and offsite testing coordination
Maintain documentation and communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, JIRA, welcome handouts) to support lab operations
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience in lab operations, facilities management, or technical project coordination
Strong organizational and space planning skills with the ability to manage employees at multiple sites
Knowledge of EHS standards, hazwaste handling, and recycling/5S practices
Proficiency in logistics coordination, including scheduling and consumables inventory management
Proven ability to supervise a team of 5+ direct reports, including conducting performance reviews and team management
Technical proficiency with collaboration tools such as SharePoint and JIRA
Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and contractor management
Flexibility to support offsite testing, exterior maintenance, and new lab setup projects
Must be based out of the Fremont, CA site, with occasional travel between nearby sites; infrequent travel outside the Bay Area may be required
