Art and Design Adjunct - Architecture
North Carolina Central University (NCCU) is a historically Black university located in Durham, North Carolina, dedicated to fostering innovation and progress. The Department of Art and Design is seeking adjunct faculty in Architecture to prepare students through lectures and studio-based learning, focusing on innovative architectural design practices.

Responsibilities
Prepare students for careers in the field through in-person lecture or studio-based learning, critiques, and exposure to traditional and cutting-edge creative approaches
Provide instruction for ARTA 3625 – Design Essentials and Form in Architecture (3 credits)
Provide instruction for ARTA 4735 – Architecture Design Studio Capstone (3 credits)
Mentor emerging designers and support student success
Qualification
Required
You must complete and submit an electronic application for employment to be considered
A portfolio of work is required with application
Each portfolio must include: 20 samples of the candidate's creative work and 20 samples of work done by the candidate's students
The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree in the field
Strong letters of reference will validate the candidate's teaching excellence and ability to inspire students
Preferred
Professional experience and/or teaching experience preferred
Strong digital modeling, design, and communication skills
Ability to mentor emerging designers and support student success
