CRMA - Full Time - Evening/Nights 6pm- 6am
Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving the central and western regions of Maine. The Certified Residential Medication Aide (C.R.M.A) will administer medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse, while also performing routine daily tasks to maintain the health and comfort of the residents.

Responsibilities
Administers medications as ordered by a physician under supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with all state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy and standards of practice
Must be able to accurately take and record vital signs of residents as assigned or as may be required by certain medications
Accurately records the administration of medications and/or treatments as required by law and/or facility policy
Observes residents for and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse on the shift immediately
Accurately administers PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy after the nurse has assessed the need
Documents reason for and purpose to PRN medications in a timely manner
May dispense controlled drugs (schedule III, IV, V) and must accurately account for them under the supervision of the licensed nurse, (or charge nurse), per facility policy
Properly secures medications carts and/or medications rooms per state and federal regulations and facility policy
Attends facility educational in-services as required
Follows federal, state and facility policies and guidelines in effect
Performs other duties as assigned
Orders medications and treatments from pharmacy as needed
Transcribes and notes orders as needed
Receives and puts medications away in their appropriate places as needed
Notifies appropriate person(s) of needed supplies and equipment
Is respectful of facility property and uses it appropriately
Keeps medication room neat, clean, and orderly
Keeps medication carts clean and maintained in an orderly fashion in accordance with State of Maine Regulations and standards of practice
Qualification
Required
Must have a Residential Care Specialist 1, or Personal Support Specialist (PSS) Certificate
May be trained within 4 months of employment
Must have state approved 40-hour certificated medication administration certification
Must possess basic mathematical skills so as to be able to accurately administer proper medication dosage
Highly developed observation skills are desirable
Must be tolerant, patient, and treat residents with dignity and respect
Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
Strong written and verbal skills
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to engage patients and team members utilizing the CMH Experience Standards
Demonstrated ability to direct and triage in a highly fluid dynamic operational environment
Ability to collaborate with all layers of the management/ administration team
