Responsibilities

Actively drive the adoption of the UOB Group-wide Data & AI Governance strategy, framework and policy, incorporating best practices and industry standards across different jurisdictions where the Bank operates. The framework should ensure that the data & AI assets across the Bank are clearly defined, owned, stewarded, distributed, consumed and risk managed in accordance with the Bank’s applicable policies, principles and standard
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business data users and data scientists, technology, risk, legal and compliance, to integrate Data & AI governance practices into the bank's ecosystem
Lead and participate in Data & AI risk assessments and validations, covering the risk management spectrum of Data & AI lifecycle
Actively lead and participate in cross-functional data quality initiatives, including the regions, to identify and resolve enterprise data quality challenges, with a focus on assessing and improving quality of critical datasets
Lead, guide and mentor a team of functional and technical data quality analysts in delivering enterprise-wide data quality solutions
Provide guidance and expertise in the understanding of business-data requirements, design of data quality checks, data profiling, root cause analysis and design of data quality measurement scorecards
Collaborate with data producers and consumers across the Bank and look at innovative ways of identifying and quantifying data quality problems, as well as ways of resolving data management issues over the data lifecycle, with a focus on critical datasets
Drive application of innovative methods such as data science techniques, machine learning or other statistical means in proactively managing data quality risks
Perform periodic reporting on data quality initiative updates, issues and remediation plans to Management Committees and senior stakeholders from the business units
Understand the end-to-end data landscape, including systems, business processes and data flows to support data governance reviews and assessments; develop and enhance supporting documentation
Be an agent of change and inculcate data governance culture and discipline across the Bank’s business and technical processes as well as across diverse stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Information Technology, Business Computing, Data Science or related disciplines with at least 12 years of working experience in the banking industry, or consulting industry with strong exposure to Financial Services
Extensive knowledge and understanding of Data & AI Governance discipline, strategy and policy planning, especially related to financial industry best practices and across the regulatory landscape
Good understanding of data management and related disciplines, such as data management lifecycle, data architecture, data quality and metadata
Excellent project management and facilitation skills, with the ability to manage senior stakeholders across the Bank and to navigate through conflicts with ease
Demonstrated ability in driving teams and initiatives independently
Excellent written / oral communication skills with strong interpersonal skills

Preferred

Understanding of AI technologies and machine learning algorithms with experience in testing AI models and technologies (e.g. Red Teaming) will be an advantage
