The role involves providing network engineering services to broadband provider clients, managing multiple projects, and implementing advanced network designs across various platforms.

Responsibilities

Implement, upgrade, maintain, troubleshoot, and support Internet Service Provider (ISP) network topologies and equipment including routers, switches, MPLS Routed Optical Networks (RON), and FTTx access equipment across various vendors

Work within a ticketing system to address client issues

Perform network hardening and architecture assessments

Evaluate networking equipment and software solutions for clients

Collaborate with team members across the networking, managed services, and IT security groups

Provide escalation role for Specialist/Tier 1 staff members to address client issues

Diagnose and remediate ISP network problems and outages

Escalate network issues to vendor Technical Assistance Centers (TAC) and collaborate on resolutions

Respond to and resolve customer service requests in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner

Develop Method of Procedures (MOP), configuration scripts, and supporting documentation for scheduled network maintenance

Perform periodic network maintenance including software upgrades, cutovers, intrusive changes, and diagnostics

Manage and documenting configuration changes and network architectures with tools including Excel, Word, and Visio

Describe technical information to non-technical individuals
