Senior Geotechnical Dam Safety Engineer

Responsibilities
Perform the roles of a Project Manager such as maintaining client relationships, contracting, project planning and execution, financial management, technical management, change management and project team management
Provide technical support for projects including seepage and slope stability analyses, filter and drain design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, Semi-Quantitative Risk Assessments, site inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of hydraulic structures
Plan, manage, and lead field investigations for various hydraulic structures and embankments (soil drilling, rock coring, concrete coring, in-situ testing, test pits, etc.)
Prepare and perform quality reviews of other Engineer's work on deliverables such design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications
Perform engineering estimates for cost and project schedules
Work with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects
Responsible for quality control
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff
Develop engineering proposals
Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with demonstrated coursework in Geotechnical Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state with the ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states
Relevant experience with dams and other hydraulic structures, including rehabilitation and/or new design and construction
Experience in relevant geotechnical engineering software programs such as GeoStudio and gINT
Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review
Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred
8 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering and/or Dams Engineering
Master's degree in Civil Engineering
Project experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers or the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
Ability to complete the Managing AECOM Projects training and receive the AECOM Project Manager certification
