Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities
Gather, verify, and process employee timekeeping information, including hours worked, overtime, and leave
Calculate salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation, incorporating overtime and other adjustments
Determine and manage various deductions from pay, such as taxes (federal, state, and local), insurance premiums, and retirement contributions
Prepare and issue paychecks or set up direct deposits to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records, updating information for promotions, terminations, and changes to benefits
Ensure that payroll practices adhere to all applicable labor laws and tax regulations, which involves monitoring changes in laws
Prepare and submit payroll tax forms, tax deposits, and periodic payroll tax returns to government agencies
Compile and distribute various reports, such as payroll summaries, expense reports, and reports for internal audits
Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues with payroll, often by collaborating with HR departments
Serve as a point of contact for employees, answering questions and providing information related to their pay, deductions, and benefits
Qualification
Required
A minimum of an Associate's Degree
3+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience
1+ years of ADP WFN payroll experience with the ability and knowledge to create custom reports, process payroll, etc
Intermediate Excel
Preferred
NetSuite Knowledge
