Responsibilities

Diagnose failures and recommend appropriate repair procedures
Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Receives direction and supervision from the Service Supervisor
Work will be performed primarily on Peterbilt vehicles
Receives job assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor
Interacts with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives, and customers
Provides mentorship to less-skilled technicians
Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as EPA, OSHA, and DOT
Work in a safe manner always at the shop and on the vehicle
Report any safety issues to management immediately
Keep the shop area neat and clean and ensure that vehicle is kept clean
Report to department management immediately anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle

Required

A vocational diploma or degree in diesel or truck repair, equivalent military training, or previous equivalent experience is required
Must have strong computer skills
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Individual should be self-motivated
Must possess strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Must have strong time-management skills
Must be able to provide excellent customer service
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Preferred

Class A or B CDL Preferred
