Boarhog LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator (Unix/Linux) to provide IT support services at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, VA. Responsibilities

Provide system administration, configuration, and maintenance for servers, endpoints, and operating systems

Configure, patch, and upgrade operating systems, applications, and associated hardware to maintain performance

Perform database tuning, monitoring, and security, and migrate existing databases and applications

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls, conduct system performance monitoring, diagnostics, and capacity planning, and implement and maintain backup, recovery, and COOP procedures

Support install, configuration, and administration of virtualization platforms

Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to apply DISA STIGs, perform vulnerability scans, and remediate findings

Monitor logs, alerts, and performance metrics to identify issues and perform root-cause analysis

Provide technical support and troubleshooting, prepare and maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, SOPs, and change control records

Required

Six (6) years of professional experience in Unix and/or Linux system administration of networks and software systems

Experience in system backup and recovery

Basic Software management

Security management and library management

Installation and configuration of hardware, operational systems and COTS software

Operating computer systems in different operating environments

Sizing, performance, tuning, hardware / software / network troubleshooting and resource allocation

Qualified experience in different network protocols including TCP/IP and major network security tools such as firewalls

Knowledge of computing and networking vulnerabilities, attack methods and latest detection methods

Master's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems

Designated as IAT III level

Active Top Secret security clearance
