Pipeline Integrity Engineer

Responsibilities
Provides direct project management (overseeing employees, third party staffing and resources) to execute and complete suite of pipeline integrity projects and service offerings
Direct pipeline integrity functions that include HCA evaluations, risk modeling, inspections, repairs, root cause analysis and remediation. Pipeline integrity functions may be performed by company or contract personnel
Provide client pipeline integrity recommendations based upon State & Federal regulations, operational efficiency and optimization, economic performance and safety
Requisitions and bids required materials and third party services to execute pipeline integrity projects, meeting customer completion dates per contract. Manages direct job costs to ensure margins are met in accordance with the project proposal
Coordinates with clients and other departments to ensure the execution of pipeline integrity projects
Conducts pre-award job walks to assist with proposal preparation and job costing. Provides on-site technical support to client
Provide project management oversight for the execution of the following types of pipeline integrity projects
Pigging: make piggable, maintenance pigging, preparatory cleaning for in-line inspections, in-line inspections and proving pipelines for pigging operations
External corrosion: cathodic protection surveys, close interval surveys, electrical isolation testing, ECDA, CP Design and AC Mitigation
Internal Corrosion: field surveys and sampling, IC monitoring design and IC corrosion monitoring
Regulatory compliance: jurisdictional determination, class location studies, HCA analysis, threat & consequential risk analysis, positive material testing and hydrostatic pressure testing
Maintains daily operating reports for employees and equipment utilized on projects
Maintains DOT 'Operator Qualification' task requirements necessary to work on regulated pipeline systems
Performs and manages pipeline integrity assessment activities such as ILI pigging, close interval surveys, and other direct assessment surveys on all company pipelines and facilities
Develops and assists with pipeline repair and remediation programs identified by pipeline integrity assessments
Gathers internal and external corrosion field data to design and install corrosion mitigation systems
Qualification
Required
BS in a science related field plus 5-years work related experience is preferred. As an alternative, AS in a science related field plus 10 years' minimum oilfield or NACE certification and experience may be substituted
Hands on field experience is essential
5+ years' work related experience is preferred in related position
Thorough understanding and knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195 pipeline integrity requirements with emphasis of Subpart O and 195.452, NACE SP0169 and ASME B31.8S
Thorough knowledge of pipeline alignment sheets, pipeline drawings, GIS pipeline mapping, surveys and GPS systems
